Gratitude Journal Prompts

pen next to open notebook that says

Filling your heart and your life with gratitude opens you up to connection, empathy, better relationships, and better physical health. Make the effort to be more grateful this month as you prepare for Thanksgiving, and keep up the good habit as you go out and about Conroe, TX the rest of the month and into the next year.

We suggest using a gratitude journal to help you, especially after the societal focus on gratitude dies down. Read today’s Mansions Woodland Blog for some prompts to get started.

  • Describe a time when you were grateful for something a friend did for you.
  • Describe a time when someone helped you recover from an illness or affliction.

  • Describe your best friend without talking about their physical attributes. What do you love most about them?

  • What is your favorite place in the world? What makes it so special?

  • Describe your proudest accomplishment. Who helped you succeed the most? What made the biggest impact in getting you there?

  • Who is someone you have a difficult time getting along with? List three positive things about them.

  • What are three ways to say “thank you” without actually using the words?

  • What is your favorite place you’ve visited this year (or in your life)?

  • If you had to give up all your possessions, which three things would keep?

  • Close your eyes and think about something that you’re grateful for more than anything else. Pay attention to your feelings and how your body reacts. Write down what gratitude feels like, emotionally and physically.

If you’re not much of a journaler, we suggest asking your loved ones these questions or any others you come up with as you’re waiting for Thanksgiving dinner to be served or as you’re resting from a meal well done.

What helps you remember to be grateful? What gratitude prompts have you found most meaningful? Share your thoughts with the rest of the apartment community so we can all benefit. Thanks for reading! Enjoy!
